About our materials:

SnapLock Table Pads are made with our Engineered Polymer, specifically created for table pads, with a durable polyurethane color-coated surface that resists liquid and protects against rings from glasses or plates. It is about half the weight of all other table pads. Both top and bottom can be cleaned with a damp cloth (unlike the velour or cotton bottoms or all others, which requires a lint-roller to clean off lint, pet hair, food, and even liquid that causes hardened stains).

Until recently, table pad construction basically has not changed over the years, with the exception of different types of improved locking devices to keep pad pieces from shifting and separating. SnapLock is the first locking system ever that does not require an attachment, such as swing locks, clip-on locks or glued-on magnetic locks. Because these types of locks are attached, they can (and oftentimes do) come loose or fall out over time and can easily cause damage to your table. SnapLock locking device pieces are not attached. They are simply cut out of the Engineered Polymer, made specifically for table pads, to snap together like a puzzle. When snapped together, you can barely see the butt-up line (so they look like a solid piece), unlike all others that show a distinct butt-up line separation or gap, which is highly liquid penetrable.
